ART AND SCIENCE AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
Beatrice has been exploring the collecitons at the Natural History Museum, London.
Both artists and scientists investigate the natural world with excitement and wonder, although we might record what we see differently we are both telling the story of nature and the earth. By working together artists and scientists can learn from one another, discover rich seams for discussion and produce suprising results.
Science Uncovered is an annual event at the Natural History Museum where members of the public can meet the scientists
and look at objects and specimens from the collections with them.
In 2015 Beatrice and Dr Lil Stevens organised an Art and Science section at Science Uncovered. This involved artists
and scientists, coming together with the items they have been working on, to present their work to the public.
Beatrice and Dr Stevens helped people of all ages to look through the microscope, discuss pollen structure and create their own artwork in the form of pollen monoprints.
